Samsung only shipped about 20,000 LCD TVs, grabbing only 3% of the 460,000 unit market in the first half of this year, the market sources noted.

Samsung expected its shipments in Taiwan this year to reach 100,000 units. However, few new models were introduced in the first half of the year, and frequent promotions from other brand vendor such as BenQ, Tatung and Chimei weakened any Samsung advantage.
